3. Compose essays with good organization, coherence, and unity.

Description

I wrote many essays throughout the last semester. One of them was a classification essay. A classification essay is one that places information into categories, each based on a specific criterion or standard. I conducted a survey about classmate’s eating habits and wrote essay about what is healthy eating habits. To organize information, I instinctively classify all that surrounds they into categorize. This is especially during the writing process in which I must sort through and organize my ideas so I can present them clearly.

Reflection

When I was doing the survey of the essay about eating habits, I did not know how detailed I should ask my classmates. In addition, since I needed to conduct more than three surveys, it took a lot of time to think questions to ask. Throughout this assignment, I learned that how to organize the information, classify them into categories, and draw conclusions from them. I also gained ability to write logically and consistency throughout my writing.

Application

This learning experience of writing a classification essay will be useful because during my college career, much of what I write will involve doing research. In the science, research is central to the curriculum, so being able to write a classification essay is essential. For example, I will have to write a classification essay through my own observations. When writing a classification essay, it is also important that the information is well organized and logically arranged.
